Do not submit your Damascus steel ring for long hours to moisture. If for some reason it gets wet, dry it immediately.
You can maintain and extend the life of your ring by wiping the metal with a cloth and a little bit of beeswax or some extra virgin olive oil or a little flaxseed oil once a week and finally wiping with a dry cloth and cleansed.
Substances like lemon, chlorine, seawater and cleaning products can generally change the appearance of your ring, however, this does not represent a burn of damage. A local jeweler could polish his ring again in a few minutes.
